Medical Marijuana Research
Since the late 1960s, the federal government has mandated that all marijuana used in research has to come from the federal government.
Researchers are usually given sh#t weed with low THC levels and low CBD levels. This will help to ensure that researchers will not have many medical breakthroughs.
The first experiment documenting pot’s potent anti-cancer effects took place in 1974 at the Medical College of Virginia at the behest federal bureaucrats. The results of that study, reported in an Aug. 18, 1974, Washington Post newspaper feature, were that marijuana’s primary psychoactive component, THC, “slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent.”
There are many reasons why marijuana was made illegal. One of the primary causes was too many industries would be negatively effected from the sales and distribution of marijuana related products. These industry includes the health care system, construction, and even the clothing industry. To ensure continued profits, the government had to suppress all obvious benefits .Including health benefits which resulted in thousands of unnecessary deaths from illnesses that could have been cured. A researcher should be allowed to grow and test their own strains. Prohibition of anything will never work if it is against what the people want.
