Green CulturED Cannabis College

Barack Obama is our 44th President, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu Hawaii. Barack would go on to attend Harvard Law School. Barack was a ambitious young man. But Barack also knew how to balance work and fun. Barack let his ambition drive him towards his success. Obama also knew how to have a good time. While Obama attended college he would hang with friend a party. Just like any other college student. Barack recently admitted to smoking marijuana when he was younger. I assume he is refereeing to his college years.  After college Barack went on to move to Chicago and work as a community organizer. Obama worked there for three years as director of the Developing Communities Project.

Barack would later go on to becoming Americas 44th President. Obama is now serving his second term. Obama shows that you can achieve any an everything you want out of life. Obama shows us to live your life in service of others.

Many Americans are given pot a second look now in favor of legalization. Obama is saying marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol. During a interview with the New Yorker. Obama said while he believes marijuana is “not very healthy” the drug isn’t as harmful as some people may think.

Obama also said during the interview. “That has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,”

Marijuana policy

Marijuana is currently classified As a Schedule 1 substance which the DEA considers the most dangerous class of drugs. These drugs as believed to have high potential for abuse and potentially severe psychological and physical dependence. Other Schedule 1 drugs are heroin, ecstasy and LSD. Marijuana should have never been put into the same category as these drugs.

Obama also made it clear that we should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time. Barack say many of the people who are writing these laws have probably done the same thing. In August Obama administration announced that they would not stop Washington and Colorado from legalizing recreational marijuana use.
